I went out to my SUV this morning. Using my remote, I unlocked the drivers side. I opened the door and noticed the door handle was loose. I got a sinking feeling in my gut. Looking closer I could see the door lock had been tampered with. Now I'm angry because it's obvious some dirty bastard tried to steal my truck. These scumbags also tried unsuccessfully to enter through the front-passenger door.
Warning: Long Personal Story Detailing Why Prince Georges County, MD Police = FAIL
I guess I'm just lucky, considering an older Jeep Cherokee of ours was stolen a month ago, which was found the next day, but we weren't notified for almost two weeks, meaning the garage that stored our stolen truck wanted about $700 before they'd release our damaged, stolen property. That's right, $700!
The garage said it's not their fault, they charge by the day and our vehicle had been their 11 days. The garage could careless that we didn't find out they had our vehicle until the 11th day. Who's fault was it? Certainly not the stellar Prince Georges County, MD Police even though it took them 10 days to notify us that our vehicle had been found and where we could pick it up. Of course we filed a police report, yet somehow the Prince Georges County, MD Police couldn't locate our number on the police report, though it's the first thing on the police report following name and date of birth.
Oh the bliss of urban-suburban living! isn't it just great how Prince Georges County, MD takes care of it's residents?
END of Warning: We now return you to your previously scheduled post
So, we're down to the one vehicle. And last night someone wanted to make it zero vehicles.
This situation doesn't make me feel like loving my neighbor. I feel more like kicking my neighbors ass. I sure don't feel like praying for help with my truck. It's not that I don't really need my truck, it just for some reason, I think GOD has better things to do than watch over my SUV? It's probably a good idea to install a better security system, or move out of Prince Georges County, MD. GOD has nothing to do with my need for a kill switch, though some Detroit pastors would disagree with me.
Over the weekend, inside the largest Churches in Detroit, pastors were praying for SUV's, minivans, coupes, sedans, pick-up trucks and convertibles. They weren't praying to get new ones, they were praying for a government bail-out to keep the ones they have. Church leaders were also pleading with GOD to inspire Congress to save the Big Three (Ford, Chrysler and GM) so the auto workers, many of whom sit in the pews every Sunday could keep what's left of their jobs.
I've been reading blog postings on this story. Listen up you anxious scientologists, these Pastors are praying for the people in the pews not the CEO's in the boardrooms. People are losing their jobs, they can't pay their mortgages and put food on the table. The leaders of these churches can't sit back and ignore the issues that their people are facing, they must address it head on and give the people some sort of comfort and reassurance. Unless you're a believer you can't begin to understand how those sermons you scoff at inspire people, how the holy spirit moves in mysterious ways and how GOD is good. All the time. All the time. GOD is good.
The way some bloggers go on about this story you'd think the Pastors actually had three hybrid SUVs parked inside the church during Sunday service. I mean it's not like there's a Ford Escape, Chevy Tahoe and a Chrysler Aspen parked just in front of the choir and behind the pulpit. I mean, if the church allowed that, if they did that...then yes, I'd agree with you. I'd be the first to say the church has maybe gone a little too far...
